Foundation, Concealer, and Powder Oh My!
Hello again my lovely make up junkies! :) Let's take face products shall we? ;) The biggest thing with face products is how you apply them. Less is always more, and is really a great philosphy when it comes to all make up! Don't over do it. Now lets get started with these steps! Also, I don't show this in the pictures but always, always moisturize your face every day whether you wear make up or not! I also applied a face primer to make sure my skin was even out :)
1.) Foundation
This time around I used my MAC Pro Long Wear foundation, mainly because I'm almost out of my Revlon Colorstay and didn't wanna waste it.
Our product & brush. Yes I use a brush to do my foundation. I feel like it covers better, uses less product and gives a more flawless finish. The one pictured above is a flat top ELF powder brush. $3 at Target! (super cheap!)
I put about a pump and a half of foundation on the back of my hand. You can add more if you need it, you'll figure out how much you need for your face the more you use this method :)
Lightly dab your brush into the foundation. I like to get the foundation in 2 different spots, I think its just my OCD. hehe!
Then press the foundation onto your skin and stipple it onto your skin (aka your gonna dab it around that area until it blend into your skin).
yes, this isn't cute but it shows that a lot of my redness from my post earlier is gooone. Gotta love a full coverage foundation ;)
2.Concealer
I use 2 concealers together, mainly because one brightens and the other cancels out my redness better because it is fleshtoned.
Here are our products! I use my flat top brush with this as well.
Attractive ;) haha I just swipe the Maybelline Dark Circle eraser over the entire dark area of my under eye.
Then I just stipple it underneath my eye like I did with the foundation, using the same brush.
Then I take the NYX HD Concealer and dot just a little under my eye and pat it out with my finger. And you are done with concealer!
3. Setting Powder
The only setting powder I will use is the MAC Mineralized Skin Finish Natural. I've found that most things just don't look as natural, and when it comes to my face I don't wanna look like I caked on make up. I apply it with an ELF powder blush, not flat top just a regular one. It is also $3 at target :)
Mineralized Skin Finish Natural & ELF powder brush :)
When it comes to powder LESS IS MORE! Barely dab the brush into the powder, as you can see in the picture you can barely see it on my brush. You just want to lightly dust it over any areas that get oily on your face. I mainly apply it in my T-zone :)
And there ya have it!
Extraaaas!
1. Bronzer
When it comes to bronzer, please be careful. Like I've mention before you don't want your face to appear muddy or orange that is just not an attractive look! I prefer a matte bronzer since bronzer with shimmer tends to make my skin shiny like its oily. I'm just not a fan. One thing you can do is buy a face powder thats a few shades darker than the shade you would wear and you have a cheap, matter bronzer! :)
Too Faced Chocolate Solei Brozer and an angled blush brush. I'm not sure of the brand, I ordered a random set off Amazon years ago.
You want to apply your bronzer right under you cheek bone. So make a fishy face and apply it there, LIGHTLY! I also appy it around my hair line and chin, but for beginners I wouldn't suggest that.
2. BlushMy favorite blush of the moment is Gingerly by MAC, which is what I used today. You want to take it easy on blush as well, too much will make you look like bozo. Always smile to find the apple of your cheeks and apply there.. Don't get too close to your nose as well.
MAC Gingerly & random blush brush.
The apples of my cheeks start here. Notice I'm a good ways away from my nose. Just start there and sweep it back to your hair line. If you apply to much, blend it out with another CLEAN blush brush :)
Not the best pic..stupid camera phone, but you can tell I have something on ;) haha
And that's it! After that I will fill in my brows and do my eye make up :) I hope this helped anyoen with questions, until next time Stay Pretty Make Up Junkies!
