First start with 2nd day hair, you can do it with freshly washed hair but it doesn't hold up as well in my opinion. I used "Dove" dry shampoo to get rid of any oil in my hair. Brush it out and make sure it's tangle free.
Pin your bangs out of the way. Only do this step if you plan on doing a "poof" in the front or just leaving your side bangs down. You can always slick all your hair back as well. Whatever your preference!
Get your hair into a high pony tail. It can be as high or low as you like. It just seems to look better if its just a little bit high on your head.
Take just a regular sock that you've cut the tip off and roll into a bun. This is just one of my old black socks that didn't have a match anymore.
Pull your pony through the sock and place the sock around the elastic you tied your hair with.
Get some hairspray and a teasing brush.
Spread your hair from the pony around the the sock and tease to make your hair thicker and have more volume.
It should look like this. Take your hairspray and spray this to give it more volume.
Now, here's the tricky part since we're not "rolling" the bun your going to take a section from the from and pull it to the side, while pushing it up just a bit to give it more volume, then pin with a bobbi pin.
Keep grabbing sections and pulling around the bun while pushing up to give volume, then pinning with a bobbi pin don't pull it tight around the sock.
Keeeeep pulling pieces around and pinning with bobbi pins.
And there ya have a sock bun remix!
I did a "poof" in the front with my bags since I don't like my hair flat to my head. I also will just leave my bangs down and swooped to the size. It's all about preference.
