Hey there my beautiful makeup junkies! Long time no talk! So sorry I've been MIA for the last few days, I have been so busy painting beautiful faces for my portfolio! So with that being said, lets get into today's post! Washing those make up brushes!
Washing make up brushes is probably my least favorite chore that comes with being a make up artist. Mainly because when using brushes on other peoples faces they have to be deep cleaned every day (which is what I am about to show you). For those who only use their brushes on their own faces, you do not have to do this everyday. You can buy an inexpensive brush cleaner and "spot clean" your brushes(lucky you!). So lets get into the tutorial!
First, start with any antibacterial soap of your choosing, and any extra virgin olive oil. Brands do not matter here. Choose what you like! :)
Next, mix 3 parts soap to 1 part olive oil. I usually just eyeball it, but whatever you do make sure you don't use too much olive oil or you'll never get it washed out of your brush.
Swirl your brush in the mixture. Just enough to get it on the end of the brush. You don't need to coat the entire brush.
Get your hand wet and start rubbing the brush into the palm of your hand. Start in circular motions and also do back & forth. You can add a bit of water to suds it up a bit better. You'll see all the built up product appear on your hand like above! Keep rubbing and cleaning until the soap has no color. As your rinse, hold your brush downwards and squeeze the bristles from the base of the brush to the end to make sure you squeeze out all the soap & as much water as possible. Lay flat on a dry surface, such as a paper towel, and allow to dry over night then you're done!
And there you have it! Super easy and your brushes are bacteria free and super soft. I hope you all enjoyed! If you would like to see any more tips and tricks or have any questions, feel free to let me know! Stay pretty, make up junkies! :)
